The Fintech Webinar jointly organised by the Association and the Education Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (EDB) was successfully held on the afternoon of 13 January 2022. The main topic of the webinar was the application of Fintech and 5G in modern life. Our guest speakers, Mr Rocky Cheng, Chief Information Officer of Bank of China (Hong Kong), and Mr Liao Shaobo, Senior Product Manager of Huawei International delivered brilliant speeches titled “Empower with Fintech” and “Seize the Opportunity of 5G to Accelerate Industry Smartization” respectively. Over 230 teachers from primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong attended the webinar. Mr. Hui Shing-yan, Chief Curriculum Support Officer of the Life-wide Learning Unit of the EDB, Mr. Kevin Chan and Mr. Wong King-sang, Executive Vice Presidents of the Association, delivered welcoming speeches, pointing out that the webinar was yet another collaboration between the two organisations since the “Fintech Journey for Young Teachers” held in August 2021 and that the aim of the webinar was to enhance young teachers’ understanding of the latest development of Fintech in Hong Kong. Both organisations will continue to organise such activities to provide more opportunities for teachers to learn about the application of Fintech. The webinar materials will be uploaded onto the website of the Life-wide Learning Unit of the EDB and that of the Association helping to widen dissemination.
